Vasari Corridor in Florence

Built by Vasari in 1550 in just five months. The corridor was asked by Cosimo I de ‘Medici to easily get from Pitti Palace, his residence, to Palazzo Vecchio, the seat of government, without the need for an escort. It ‘a little more than a km and crosses the Arno passing over the Ponte Vecchio. There is preserved the most important and extensive collection of portraits and self-portraits painted between six and seven hundred in the world.
